Solinst Rainlogger 5
The Solinst Rainlogger 5 is an event-based datalogger, not a pressure sensor — it connects to a standard tipping-bucket rain gauge with a reed-switch output and records a timestamp each time the bucket tips, rather than sampling at fixed intervals. Housed in ABS plastic on the same electronics platform as the Levelogger 5 family, it stores up to 100,000 time-stamped readings and communicates optically via USB, the same way other Solinst dataloggers do. Its data can stand alone as a precipitation record or be combined with Levelogger water-level data through Solinst's software to correlate rainfall with water-level response.

- Up to 10-year battery life
- Same ABS housing and electronics platform as the Levelogger 5 family
- Optical USB communication compatible with Solinst software
- Compatible with standard tipping-bucket rain gauges
- Local precipitation measurement
- Watershed-scale remote monitoring networks
- Localized stormwater event monitoring
- Correlating rainfall with Levelogger water-level response
- Supplementing groundwater monitoring networks with rainfall data
- Long-term precipitation record keeping
