Horiba Ion Electrode Replacement Cartridges & Membranes

Replacement sensing cartridges and membrane caps for HORIBA combination ion-selective electrodes. The cartridge carries the ion-sensing element, and it is the consumable part of the electrode — when response goes slow, the slope falls off, or readings will no longer calibrate, replacing the cartridge restores the electrode instead of requiring a whole new one.

At a fraction of the price of a complete electrode kit, keeping the right cartridge on the shelf is what keeps an ISE method running. Cartridges are electrode-specific; match the part below to the electrode you own.

Cartridges and membranes

  • Ammonia membrane cap, set of 3 (3200705774) — for the 5002S-10C ammonia electrode. Gas-permeable membrane caps, supplied three to a set.
  • 7683S calcium ion cartridge (3200697414) — for the 6583S-10C calcium electrode.
  • 7660S chloride ion cartridge (3200697411) — for the 6560S-10C chloride electrode.
  • 7661S fluoride ion cartridge (3200693606) — for the 6561S-10C fluoride electrode.
  • 7681S nitrate ion cartridge (3200697412) — for the 6581S-10C nitrate electrode.
  • 7682S potassium ion cartridge (3200697413) — for the 6582S-10C potassium electrode.

When to replace a cartridge

The clearest indicator is calibration slope. An ion-selective electrode should produce close to the theoretical millivolt change per decade of concentration; when the measured slope drifts well outside that, the sensing element is exhausted. Other signs are a response time that lengthens from seconds to minutes, readings that will not settle, and standards that no longer reproduce. Verify with fresh standards and correct ionic strength adjustor addition before replacing — degraded standards mimic a failing cartridge.

Applications

  • Restoring ISE performance in routine wastewater and drinking water laboratories
  • Maintaining ammonia and nitrate methods for nitrification monitoring
  • Fluoride monitoring for drinking water fluoridation compliance
  • Chloride determination in water, brines and construction materials
  • Soil, plant tissue and fertilizer analysis for calcium and potassium
  • Teaching laboratories where electrodes see heavy seasonal use
