Telemetry replaces the site visit. Where crews once drove out to download a logger, a telemetry unit reports continuously on its own — and tells you the moment a level, flow, or water quality reading crosses a threshold you care about. It's the right answer when access is difficult, when travel eats the budget, or when a permit requires time-series data and documented alerts.
Building a station — 3 things
- A telemetry unit — the field gateway that reads your sensors and transmits.
- Power — internal battery, solar, or AC, depending on how remote the site is and how often it reports.
- A data plan — Geotech SiteView carries the data, hosts it, and handles your alerts.
Most systems connect to instruments you already own. Our gateways speak the standard industrial signals — 4–20 mA and 0–24 V analog, RS485, RS232, SDI-12 serial, and dry-contact or pulse inputs — so you can instrument a site without replacing the sensors in it.
What you can monitor
- Pressure transducers & level loggers — the most common application: continuous groundwater and surface water level.
- In-Situ Aqua TROLL sondes — turn a spot-check multiparameter sonde into an unattended, continuously reporting water quality station.
- Water quality instruments — pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and turbidity.
- Flow meters — pulse-output and analog flow sensors.
