AMS Reinforced Sand Augers are heavy-duty adaptations of the standard AMS sand auger for loose, non-cohesive, sandy soils in difficult lithologies. Three additional gussets at the bail add strength against twisting or bending under higher torque. The closed-bit design with a restricted opening retains loose, sandy material during retrieval so you recover more of your sample.

Available in Standard and full Stainless Steel builds across 5/8" threaded, Quick Connect, and Hex Quick Pin connections in diameters from 1-1/2" to 5". Compatible with AMS extensions and cross handles of the same connection type.

Applications: heavy-duty augering in sandy and non-cohesive soils; difficult lithologies.
