The DW-1500 pairs Laval's dual-view borehole camera with an AC-powered winch carrying 1,500 ft (457 m) of Kevlar-reinforced coaxial cable, for wells deeper than a battery-powered portable system is built to reach. The 1/4 HP gear motor runs from 115 or 230 VAC and supplies 12 VDC back to the R-Cam control unit, while an adjustable level wind and an optical encoder handle cable spooling and depth. It can be bolted into a truck or skid, or set up on a tripod at the wellhead.
