Solinst 615 Drive Point Piezometer
The Solinst 615 Drive Point Piezometer is a stainless-steel screened point that is hammered directly into the ground rather than placed in a drilled hole. It threads onto 3/4" NPT stainless-steel drive pipe extensions and is driven with a slide hammer acting on a drive head assembly, adding extensions and driving in turn until the target depth is reached. All variants share the same 3/4" stainless-steel body and 50-mesh stainless screen, differing only in the top fitting: the standard 615 has a barbed fitting for sample tubing; 615C has a compression fitting for vapor sampling; 615N omits the tubing barb for water-level-meter access; and the 615S/615SN add a protective shield around the screen to prevent smearing during driving.
Do you have everything you need? Drive heads, NPT extensions and couplings, screened extensions, replacement shields, and 615ML multilevel tips/ports are available on the Solinst 615 Drive Point Piezometer Parts & Accessories page.
- 316 stainless steel body with 50-mesh screen and screen-support spring
- Installed by driving with a slide hammer — no drilling required
- 5/8" OD barbed fitting keeps sample water off the extension rods
- Compression-fitting (615C) version supports air-tight vapor sampling
- Shielded versions (615S/615SN) prevent screen smearing during driving
- No-barb versions (615N/615SN) simplify water-level-meter access
- Groundwater sampling, including VOC sampling
- Water-level monitoring at temporary or permanent well points
- Contaminant plume delineation
- Soil gas and vapor sampling (615C)
- UST monitoring and sparge points
- Low-cost, minimal-disturbance site assessments
