Seametrics BaroSCOUT 2X Barometric Logger
The Seametrics BaroSCOUT 2X is a barometric pressure and temperature datalogger built to compensate absolute (non-vented) water level sensors for changes in atmospheric pressure. Sharing the same compact, 0.875" (2.22 cm) diameter body as the LevelSCOUT 2X, it logs up to 100,000 records on a 4.5-year battery and is the standard reference sensor for groundwater level monitoring networks.
Constructed from 316 stainless steel, acetal, and fluoropolymer, the BaroSCOUT 2X reads local atmospheric pressure and feeds it into Seametrics' free Aqua4Plus 2.0 software, which automatically corrects LevelSCOUT 2X (or other absolute sensor) readings for barometric fluctuation — critical for accurate groundwater level data in confined or leaky aquifer conditions.
