Solinst 3250 LevelVent 6
The Solinst LevelVent 6 is the vented member of the Levelogger family. Instead of measuring absolute pressure and correcting it afterwards, the LevelVent 6 uses a gauged Hastelloy® pressure sensor that is open to the atmosphere through a vent tube running up the cable to a surface wellhead. The result is water level data that is already barometrically corrected the moment it is recorded — no Barologger, no compensation step in software, and none of the time lag that comes with pairing two separate pressure records.
The logger holds pressure and temperature sensors, a 10-year battery, memory for 150,000 data sets and a hydrophobic filter inside a 22 mm x 173 mm (7/8" x 6.8") stainless steel enclosure weighing 190 grams. A Faraday cage design protects the electronics against surges and lightning-induced spikes. Both the logger and the wellhead contain permanent, built-in desiccants and hydrophobic filters that keep moisture out of the vent path and never need replacing — a real maintenance saving over vented systems that use consumable desiccant packs.
Accuracy is ± 0.05% FS typical with resolution from 0.001% to 0.0006% FS, temperature accuracy is ± 0.05°C, and the sensor withstands twice its rated over-pressure without permanent damage. A dedicated backup memory keeps the most recent 20,000 readings independently of the main log. Sampling runs from 1/8 second to 99 hours in linear, event and user-selectable schedules with repeat and pause modes.
Programming and downloads run through Levelogger Software over the Mk3 USB-C PC Interface Cable at 38.4k baud, or 9600 baud with a Solinst USB cable. The Levelogger App Interface, Solinst Readout Unit and DataGrabber all connect directly to the wellhead, so nothing has to be pulled from the well. The LevelVent 6 also works on SDI-12 and MODBUS networks through a Solinst Interface Cable and integrates with LevelSender cellular telemetry.
Choosing a range. The LevelVent 6 is designed for shallow deployments up to 20 m (65 ft) submergence; the M number is maximum submergence depth in metres.
| Model | Full Scale | Accuracy | Resolution |
| M5 | 5 m (16.4 ft) | ± 0.3 cm (0.010 ft) | 0.001% FS |
| M10 | 10 m (32.8 ft) | ± 0.5 cm (0.016 ft) | 0.0006% FS |
| M20 | 20 m (65.6 ft) | ± 1 cm (0.032 ft) | 0.0006% FS |
Wellhead and vented cable. The compact wellhead measures 30 mm x 76 mm (1.2" x 3.0"), is built from black Delrin®, nickel-plated zinc and Viton®, carries an IP 64 rating, and is sized to sit inside a Solinst 2" Well Cap Assembly. Vented cable assemblies are made to order in lengths from 1 to 500 ft, with an 8 mm (0.32") polyurethane-jacketed cable, 20 mm (0.79") twist connectors and a 25 mm (1") minimum bend radius; a 2" Well Cap Assembly and hanger bracket are supplied with the cable to support the wellhead in the well.
Do you have everything you need? Vented cable assemblies, wellhead assemblies, well caps and connector cables are listed under Solinst LevelVent Parts & Accessories. For deeper wells, or sites prone to flooding where a vented cable is a liability, the absolute-pressure Levelogger 6 reaches 200 m and pairs with a Barologger 6.
