Solinst 9700 SolSat Satellite Telemetry
The Solinst SolSat 5 is a weatherproof, solar-assisted satellite telemetry unit that connects to a single Solinst datalogger via reader cable, taking hourly readings of water level (barometrically compensated), temperature, and conductivity. It transmits over the Iridium satellite network using a built-in modem and helical antenna, giving it global coverage independent of cellular infrastructure wherever it has a clear sky view. Data is delivered via satellite messaging to a secure web portal for viewing and export, and can trigger text or email alerts. Configuration is done wirelessly through the unit's own Wi-Fi access point from a smartphone or laptop browser, with power supplied by two rechargeable batteries topped up by an integrated solar panel.
Do you have everything you need? The SolSat 5 requires a Solinst datalogger (Levelogger 5, Barologger 5, Levelogger 5 Junior, Levelogger 5 LTC, or LevelVent 5) and a satellite data plan set up through Solinst.
