Solinst 428 BioBailer
The Solinst 428 BioBailer is a single-use, clear PVC grab-sampling bailer with a tapered top and bottom to resist snagging in the well, and a molded handle for attaching a suspension cord. It is lowered below the water table, fills as it descends, and is hauled back to the surface holding a trapped column of water. Because the PVC formulation is dense enough to sink on its own, no added weight is typically needed. At the surface, the sample is transferred through a dedicated Sample Release Device that lets water drain out in a slow, controlled stream rather than being poured from the open top, reducing agitation. The PVC compound includes an additive intended to promote breakdown under high-microbial landfill conditions after disposal; Solinst states the material is not expected to degrade under normal storage or use.

- Additive promotes breakdown under landfill disposal conditions
- Sold in cases of 24 for high-volume sampling programs
- Routine disposable groundwater grab sampling
- Programs requiring visual inspection of sample clarity or free product
- Single-use sampling to eliminate decontamination between wells
- General environmental monitoring well sampling
- Low-cost, high-volume sampling events
- Landfill-disposal-conscious sampling programs
