The RKI SP-220 is a rugged, lightweight sample-draw leak checker built to pinpoint hard-to-find gas leaks at low concentrations. An integral pump pulls the sample through the probe so the operator can reach into tight spaces, and fast response with one-handed operation makes tracing a leak to its source straightforward. Features include a backlit LCD, moulded rubber cover, built-in LED work light, IP-55 weather protection, snap logging of 128 readings and data logging of 256 points. The type SC version uses a hot-wire semiconductor (MOS) sensor covering PH3, CH4, H2, HCl, ETO, HBr and NH3; the type FUM version uses the same sensor configured for fumigation gases including methyl bromide, sulfuryl fluoride and phosphine; type M is set up for methane and type L for LPG.

Applications include gas distribution and service line leak surveys, pinpointing and post-repair verification, fumigation monitoring, refrigeration and process piping leak checks, landfill and soil gas screening, and tracing low concentration toxic or combustible leaks where a diffusion instrument is neither sensitive nor directional enough.
