The RKI GP-1000 is a portable sample-draw combustible gas detector covering two ranges in one instrument, 0 to 10% LEL for sensitive leak work and 0 to 100% LEL for higher concentrations. The internal pump draws the sample through a probe so readings can be taken at a distance from the operator, into a manhole, vault, void or piping run, rather than requiring the instrument itself to sit in the atmosphere being tested. Available calibrated for methane or for isobutane as a general hydrocarbon. A carrying case and screen protector are included, and one configuration ships as a complete kit with a 34 litre 50% LEL methane cylinder, demand flow regulator and tubing so the instrument can be bump tested and calibrated on site from the first day.

Applications include gas distribution leak surveys, confined space pre-entry testing, landfill and soil gas screening, utility and municipal vault work, and general combustible gas leak investigation where remote sampling is needed.
