Ion Science Tiger XT Fire Investigation Kit — PID for Ignitable Liquid Residue Detection
The Ion Science Tiger XT Fire Investigation Kit packages the Tiger XT photoionization detector with the probe, filter, and power accessories a fire investigator actually needs on a fire scene, in a premium plus case. On a burned structure the problem is not detecting VOCs — pyrolysis products are everywhere — it is finding the hot spots of ignitable liquid residue quickly so that a limited number of laboratory samples get taken from the right places. The Tiger XT's two-second response and 1 ppb to 20,000 ppm range let you sweep a scene rapidly and rank locations before committing to sample collection.
The kit's 1000 mm multi-adaptor probe extension is the key piece: it lets you screen debris, floor seams, subfloor voids, and low-lying areas without kneeling in a contaminated, unstable scene. The alkaline battery pack provides a fallback when scene work runs past the rechargeable pack's endurance and there is no power available.
