Horiba ORP & Temperature Electrode
Replacement ORP (oxidation-reduction potential) and temperature electrodes for HORIBA meters. ORP is measured in millivolts against a reference and tells you whether a solution is oxidizing or reducing — the single most useful indicator for disinfection control, chemical dosing and treatment endpoint detection.
ORP electrodes
- 9300-10D (3014046710) — waterproof combination ORP electrode.
- 9301-10D (3200922105) — waterproof combination ORP electrode, black body.
Both combine the platinum sensing surface and the reference in one waterproof body, so they connect directly to a compatible meter without a separate reference electrode.
Temperature electrode
- 4163-10T (3014080375) — temperature electrode, for meters that need a separate temperature input for automatic compensation when the pH or conductivity electrode has no built-in sensor.
Why ORP is worth measuring
In chlorination, ORP reflects the actual disinfecting power of the water rather than the total chlorine present, which is why it is used to control dosing in drinking water, pools and cooling systems. In wastewater it distinguishes aerobic from anoxic and anaerobic conditions, so it is used to verify that nitrification, denitrification and sulfide control are working. In metal finishing it is the standard endpoint indicator for cyanide destruction and chromium reduction.

Maintenance note
A sluggish or non-responsive ORP electrode is usually a fouled platinum surface rather than a failed electrode. Cleaning the platinum restores response in most cases; verify against a known redox standard before replacing the electrode.
