Horiba LAQUAtwin Salt Pocket Meter
The HORIBA LAQUAtwin salt pocket meter gives a direct salt concentration readout in g/L or percent from a sample of just a few drops. The flat sensor sits on the sample surface, so you can measure soup, sauce, brine, a soil extract or seawater without dilution rigs or a full beaker of sample.
Both models are fully waterproof (IP67), calibrate at one button press, and use a user-replaceable sensor. Each ships with 5 ppt (0.5%) and 50 ppt (5.0%) calibration solutions, batteries, dropper and storage case.
Choose your model
- LAQUAtwin Salt-11 (part no. 3999960128) — conductivity-based sensor, 2-point calibration, 0 to 100.0 g/L and 0 to 100%. The practical, lower-cost choice where the dissolved salt is essentially all sodium chloride.
- LAQUAtwin Salt-22 (part no. 3200689158) — sodium ion-selective (ISE) sensor, 2-point calibration, same 0 to 100.0 g/L and 0 to 100% range. Measures sodium specifically, so other dissolved ions do not inflate the reading.
Which sensor type do I need?
A conductivity-based salt meter infers salt from total ionic content, so anything else dissolved in the sample adds to the result. That is fine for brines and simple salt solutions. In a complex matrix — a seasoned food product, a fertilizer solution, or wastewater carrying multiple salts — the sodium ISE sensor in the Salt-22 is the accurate choice because it responds to sodium alone.
