The Honeywell ModRAE is a portable photoionization detector built around swappable smart sensor cartridges instead of a single fixed sensor. Choose the PID cartridge that fits the job: a 10.6 eV lamp for ppb-level VOC screening, a higher-range 10.6 eV cartridge for spill and source work, a 9.8 eV cartridge for benzene-specific readings with RAE-Sep tubes, or an 11.7 eV lamp for compounds a standard lamp cannot ionize. Cartridges change in the field without tools, and ones kept off the instrument stay biased, so a swapped cartridge is ready to measure in about 5 seconds.

Bluetooth and NFC are standard. A field-installed LTE cellular or LoRa module with GPS streams readings and location to a remote team, and the instrument works with Honeywell Safety Suite 2.0 for fleet management, calibration records and data. It is rated IP66/IP68, intrinsically safe for Class I, Division 1 locations, and carries man-down, SOS, flashlight and 95 dB audible, visual and vibration alarms.

What's included with the complete monitor

Each complete monitor ships with its battery pack and rubber boot, hand strap, wrist strap and belt clip, flexible probe adaptor, water trap adaptor and three water traps, three porous metal filters, organic zeroing kit, PID cleaning kit, calibration T-tube, USB Type-C cable with magnetic connector, AC adaptor, three NFC tag keyrings, three screen protectors and a screwdriver. The Cartridge Only options are sold without the base unit.
