The Geotech Sand Shaker is a compact, handheld sieve kit built for fast grain-size analysis of soil samples right in the field. Twenty interchangeable stainless steel mesh sieves — ranging from a coarse No. 4 (0.187 in.) down to a fine No. 270 (0.0021 in.) — let you break a sample into its full range of particle sizes without a lab.

Five clear acrylic viewing cylinders catch the separated material after shaking, and volumetric percentage markings on the frame let you read off an approximate gradation breakdown on the spot. The lightweight ABS plastic frame (approx. 4 in. dia. x 14.5 in. long) and acrylic cylinders (2 in. dia. x 1.85 in. long) keep the whole kit portable enough to carry in a field bag.
