AMS Bulk Density Soil Sampling Kits collect accurate, interval-specific core samples to a depth of about 3 ft for laboratory bulk-density determination. Bulk density — the weight of dry soil per unit volume — is a key indicator of compaction, water infiltration, aeration, and root growth, and these kits are engineered to capture representative cores with minimal disturbance.

AMS's bulk-density core sampler uses a much shorter 5/16" gap between tip and liner (versus 1"+ on standard samplers) for a truer core with less compaction, and the cap's built-in waste barrel gives 2" of relief to prevent overdriving — so there's no need to stack multiple rings or worry about sample blow-by. Each kit ships with the core sampler cup and cap, a 2-1/2" open-face auger, 2-3/4" regular bucket auger, 2-3/4" planer auger, 2' extension, 18" rubber-coated cross handle, twenty-five 2"×2" stainless rings (90.59 cc each) in an aluminum case, 50 end caps, wrenches, a cleanout tool, a brush, an impact-absorbing hammer, and a deluxe carrying case.
