WQ101 Temperature Sensor (Submersible)

The Global Water WQ101 Temperature Sensor is a rugged, reliable device for highly accurate submersible water — or ambient air — temperature measurement. The probe is molded onto marine-grade cable and uses a simple two-wire configuration for minimum current draw, with all electronics fully encapsulated in marine-grade epoxy inside a stainless steel housing so it can be continuously submerged without damage.

It delivers a standard 4–20 mA output accepted by virtually any datalogger, PLC, SCADA system, digital display, or telemetry unit, making it easy to add to new or existing monitoring setups. Each sensor is assembled, tested, and calibrated before shipment and ships with a calibration report.

Choosing a Version

  • Open Water — the standard submersible probe (¾" dia. × 4½" long), rated to 200 psi, ideal for direct deployment in streams, lakes, wells, and tanks.
  • Online — supplied with a ¾ × 6 in. PVC pipe nipple threaded both ends with a cap (¾" NPT PVC housing), for inline/plumbed installations (rated to 50 psi).

What’s Included

  • WQ101 temperature sensor probe in a stainless steel housing
  • Molded-on marine-grade cable in the length you select (25–500 ft)
  • Two-wire 4–20 mA output
  • Factory calibration and calibration report
  • Online version: ¾" NPT PVC pipe-nipple housing with cap

Key Specifications

  • Ambient air temperature as part of a weather station

Configuration Guidance

Select the version (Open Water or Online) for your installation, then choose the cable length measured from your monitoring device to the sensor. A 25 ft cable is standard; longer lengths are available up to 500 ft.
