Geotech portable stainless steel bladder pumps

Geotech Portable Bladder Pump — 1.66"

The 1.66" Geotech Portable Bladder Pump is the standard-diameter pump for 2" monitoring wells — the most common low-flow sampling configuration in the field. Stainless steel construction, quick-change bladder, and a hanger built into the pump body.

A bladder pump isolates the sample from the drive air completely: compressed air squeezes a flexible bladder, and only the bladder ever touches the water. That is what makes it the reference method for low-flow (micro-purge) sampling where volatiles must not be stripped and turbidity must stay low.

Choosing your configuration

  • 18" or 36" body. The longer body moves more water per cycle — worth it in higher-yield wells or when purge volumes are large. The 18" is easier to handle and fits shorter screened intervals.
  • Standard or drop tube. A drop tube intake draws from below the pump, letting you sample close to the bottom of the screen without repositioning the pump body.
  • Standard or PFAS-free. PFAS-free units are built with documented fluoropolymer-free wetted materials for programs where PFAS is an analyte. Same price as standard.

Building a complete 1.66" system

A working setup needs four things beyond the pump — all sized to 1.66":

  1. GeoControl Pro controller — drives the pump and sets the cycle timing
  2. 1.66" bladders — PTFE or polyethylene; replaced between wells
  3. 1.66" bonded tubing — air and discharge lines in one bonded run
  4. GeoReel — hand or powered, keeps tubing managed between wells

Everything compatible with this diameter is gathered in the 1.66" Bladder Pump System collection.
