Geotech Pressurized Bailers let you filter a sample in the field without a pump or a power source. Once the bailer is retrieved, a hand pump pressurises the body and pushes the sample out through an inline filter — so the water is filtered on the way into the container rather than back at the lab.

That matters for dissolved metals work, where the sample has to pass a 0.45 µm filter before preservation. Doing it under gentle, even pressure avoids the agitation and exposure that come with decanting and syringe-filtering by hand.

Application

Sample preparation for dissolved and trace metals analysis in monitoring wells — the primary use. Also suited to any program that requires field filtration at the point of collection, where turbidity would otherwise bias the result, and to remote sites with no power for a pump-and-filter setup.

For unfiltered grab samples, the standard weighted and non-weighted disposable bailers are the more economical choice.
