The Solinst Levelogger 6 is a self-contained absolute-pressure datalogger that records water level and temperature in monitoring wells, boreholes and surface water. A Hastelloy® piezoresistive pressure sensor, platinum RTD temperature detector, 10-year lithium battery and datalogger are sealed inside a 22 mm x 160 mm (7/8" x 6.3") 316L stainless steel housing, protected inside and out by a baked-on polymerization coating and double o-ring seals. A Faraday cage design shields the electronics against power surges and lightning-induced spikes.

Series 6 is a ground-up electronics refresh of the platform. The new Mk3 USB-C PC Interface Cable doubles communication to 19.2k baud, roughly halving download time on large datasets, and adds LED status indicators plus a built-in self-test that flags Direct Read Cable short circuits and electrical noise while you are still at the well. A dedicated backup memory holds the most recent 20,000 readings independently of the 150,000-reading main log, so an interrupted download cannot cost you the latest data. Date and time stamps are now stored with each file, so data can be displayed in local time, GMT or UTC.

Levelogger Software adds interval-based data analysis (minimum, maximum and average values over a period you define), filters for screening noisy data, and the ability to merge multiple files into one for long-term projects. Readings can be pulled with a Desktop or Field Reader, a Solinst Readout Unit, a DataGrabber USB transfer device, or over Bluetooth® using the Levelogger App Interface. The Levelogger 6 is also SDI-12 and MODBUS compatible through a surface Interface Cable, and integrates with Solinst LevelSender cellular, SolSat satellite and RRL radio telemetry.

Choosing a range. The M number is the maximum submergence depth in metres. Accuracy is stated as a percentage of full scale, so a shorter range gives a tighter absolute accuracy — select the shallowest range that covers your expected water column.
