The HORIBA U-53 is a field-portable multiparameter water quality meter built around a tungsten-lamp turbidity sensor, delivering ten simultaneous measurements from one submersible probe.
The difference between the U-53 and the U-52 is the turbidity light source. The U-53 uses a tungsten lamp rather than an LED — the configuration specified by turbidity methods that call for a white-light incandescent source. If your sampling program or discharge permit references tungsten-lamp turbidity, this is the model to specify. An automatic wiper keeps the optical window clean during extended deployments, and the integrated depth sensor records the exact depth of every reading for true water-column profiling.
Choose the length to match your deepest measuring point.
Replacement pH, ORP and DO sensors, the #7801 U-53 turbidity cell, reference electrode tips, DO membrane caps, wiper rubbers, probe guards, O-ring sets, carrying cases, flow cells and calibration solutions are all stocked — see the Horiba Parts & Accessories collection.
