Horiba Conductivity Electrode & Cell
Replacement conductivity electrodes and cells for HORIBA meters, covering everything from ultrapure water at the low end to concentrated brines at the high end. Conductivity is also the basis for TDS, salinity and resistivity readings, so the electrode you choose determines the usable range for all of those.
Cell constant is the thing to get right
The cell constant (K, in cm⁻¹) sets the range where the electrode performs well. Too low a constant in a concentrated sample, or too high a constant in pure water, produces noisy and inaccurate readings even though the meter appears to work.
- K = 0.1 cm⁻¹ — low conductivity: pure and ultrapure water, condensate, deionized water
- K = 1 cm⁻¹ — general purpose: drinking water, surface water, wastewater, most laboratory samples
- K = 10 cm⁻¹ — high conductivity: seawater, brines, concentrated acids and bases, plating baths
General purpose electrodes
- 9382-10D (3014046709) — plastic-bodied conductivity electrode.
- 9383-10D (3200780927) — plastic-bodied conductivity electrode, black body.
Pure and ultrapure water
- 9371-10D (3200878882) — stainless steel bodied electrode for ultrapure water. In very low conductivity water, contact with air rapidly absorbs carbon dioxide and corrupts the reading, so this electrode is normally used in a sealed flow arrangement rather than a beaker.
- Flow Cell (3200844642) — glass flow cell for the 9371-10D and the 300-2C-C cartridge. Keeps the sample isolated from atmosphere for stable low-conductivity measurement.
Laboratory cells
- 3551-10D (3014081712) — cell constant 0.1 cm⁻¹
- 3552-10D (3014081545) — cell constant 1 cm⁻¹
- 3553-10D (3014081714) — cell constant 10 cm⁻¹
- 3574-10C (3014082592) — trace flow cell, cell constant 10 cm⁻¹
