PVC Drum Thief
A drum thief is the simplest way to pull a sample from a drum, tank, or carboy: lower the open tube into the liquid, cap the top with a thumb, and lift. The vacuum holds the column in place until you release it over the sample container.
At 0.5" x 42" this PVC tube reaches the bottom of a standard 55-gallon drum and captures a full-depth column, so you see the stratification rather than just the surface layer. Rigid enough to push through viscous product, cheap enough to throw away after one container.
Application: Waste characterization and drum profiling, tank and carboy sampling, incoming-material QC, and any job where a full-depth grab from a container is needed. Because each thief is discarded after use, there is no decontamination step and no carryover between drums — which matters when the contents are unknown or incompatible.
Sold individually and in bulk quantities. For a full-depth composite from a drum with a valved sample release, see the Coliwasa.
