Geotech 1.66" Portable Bladder Pump Repair Parts

Field-replaceable parts for the 1.66" Geotech Portable Bladder Pump — housings, caps, check balls, O-rings, screens and the complete intake assemblies. Covers both the standard and PFAS-free builds of the pump.

Item numbers match the exploded diagram shown above, reproduced from Section 7 of the pump manual. The diagram illustrates the 18" model; the 36" pump is identical apart from the housing and upper cap, which are listed in both lengths.

Standard or PFAS-free — which parts differ

Most of the pump is common to both builds. The difference is confined to the parts with a polymer in the wetted path, because the standard pump uses fluoropolymers (PTFE, Viton) that a PFAS-free program cannot accept:

Everything else — housings, hose barbs, check balls, upper and lower caps, retainer plug, screen, disc, snap ring, drop tube components and tubing — is the same part in either build. Spare parts kits, O-ring service kits and thread tape are stocked in both versions.

Bladder caution for PFAS-free pumps: the 1.66" bladders are stocked in polyethylene and PTFE. Only the polyethylene bladders are PFAS-free — PTFE is a fluoropolymer, so do not fit one to a PFAS-free pump.

How the pump comes apart

The diagram groups the pump into four sub-assemblies, which is also the order you work through a rebuild:

  • Housing (2) — the outer stainless tube, sized 18" or 36".
  • Bladder Assembly (1, 5) — the bladder plus its compression ring. The bladder is a consumable, stocked separately.
  • Pump Assembly (3, 4, 6–14) — upper cap weldment, hose barbs, hanger, check balls and the O-ring set. This is where most wear shows up.
  • Bottom Intake (15–19) or Optional Drop Tube Assembly (20–25), depending on your pump's configuration.

What usually needs replacing

  • O-rings (7, 8, 12, 14). The most common cause of a pump that will not hold pressure or lift a full column. The O-Ring Service Kit covers the whole set in one order and is the sensible first move on any underperforming pump — order the version matching your build.
  • Check balls (6, 13). A scarred or seated ball stops the pump sealing on the up-stroke.
  • Intake screen (16). Replace when clogged or deformed after sediment-heavy work.
  • Spare Parts Kit. Bundles the common wear items — worth carrying one per crew as a field spare.
