Ion Science Tiger XT Fire Investigation Kit

Ion Science Tiger XT Fire Investigation Kit — PID for Ignitable Liquid Residue Detection

The Ion Science Tiger XT Fire Investigation Kit packages a Tiger XT or Tiger XTL photoionization detector with the probe, filter and power accessories a fire investigator needs, in a rugged carry case sized for scene work.

At a fire scene the PID does one job well: it narrows down where to take samples. Sweeping debris with the probe identifies areas of elevated hydrocarbon vapor — potential ignitable liquid residue — so that laboratory samples are collected from the points most likely to confirm it, rather than from a grid chosen by guesswork. Screening is presumptive; laboratory analysis remains the confirmatory step.

Consumables

PTFE filter discs, carbon zero filters, lamps, electrode stacks and spare batteries are stocked in Tiger XT Spares & Accessories. Calibration gas is listed under Calibration Gas.

  • Targets your sampling — identifies elevated vapor areas so laboratory samples are taken from the right place
  • Response in under two seconds — fast enough to sweep fire debris at working pace
  • Choice of instrument — Tiger XTL for routine work, or Tiger XT in ppm or ppb for trace-level residue detection
  • Scene-ready kit — supplied with probe, filters, charger and rugged carry case
  • Up to 24 hours of runtime — long enough for extended scene work without a battery swap
  • Logged and timestamped — readings recorded with date and time to support the investigation record
  • Fire scene investigation — locating ignitable liquid residues in debris before sampling
  • Suspected arson — targeting sample collection to defensible, evidence-supported locations
  • Insurance and origin-and-cause work — documenting vapor findings across a scene
  • Post-fire air monitoring — assessing residual VOC levels for responder and occupant safety
  • Vehicle fire examination — screening interiors and engine compartments in confined conditions
  • Training and scene reconstruction — demonstrating vapor distribution during investigator instruction
