Delta Epsilon GE0809CB combo gamma/resistivity borehole probe

Delta Epsilon GE0809CB Combo Probe (Gamma/Resistivity)

The Delta Epsilon GE0809CB is a compact combination probe that logs natural gamma radiation, spontaneous potential (SP), 16" normal resistivity, and single-point resistance simultaneously in a single pass down the borehole — a direct replacement for the older GE9409 probe. It's built for use with Delta Epsilon's battery/single-conductor logging systems (1A-150, 3A-300, 600DL).

Natural gamma logging reads the formation's natural radioactivity (concentrated in clay and shale), giving a lithology log that works in both open and cased, wet or dry holes. Resistivity logging measures how well the formation and pore fluid conduct electricity — controlled by porosity, pore-fluid salinity, and clay content — and is used to separate clay/aquitard zones from sandy aquifer zones and flag fresh- vs. saline-water intervals. Running gamma and resistivity together in one probe gives a faster, depth-matched dataset for correlating lithology against water quality in a single trip down the hole.

Specs: 44.5 mm (1.75") diameter × 979 mm (38.5") length, 4.5 kg (9.9 lb). Gamma 0–100,000 CPS; SP ±2000 mV; 16" normal resistivity and single-point resistance 0–5000 ohm-m/ohms.

Application: Groundwater exploration, aquifer characterization, and geotechnical/environmental borehole logging. Pairs with our LN Adapter (LNA0809) to add a second, deeper-reading 64" resistivity measurement.
